.........

October 24th, 2008 at 02:33 pm

been buckling down somewhat and have decided that this Christmas will be a very lean one. No one needs anything, really. We have enough stuff around.

I have been doing mystery shops for extra money and am trying to get a part time job, no one seems to be hiring!!

Thanks...

for all the posts. I think not having it all in one place really had me clueless to the amount. The majority is student loan and mortgage, so I can deal with it. I signed up for Financial Peace University, it starts in August. I have several of his books, but I thought this may give me the kick in the rear I need.

I also opened a free checking account at a different bank that I plan to use for savings, hopefully it will keep me from dipping into it.

OMG....

we are in debt people!!
I just did a snowball worksheet and we won't be out of debt until thousands of years from now!!!

Oh my!

tonight...

tonight I am going to revist the Dave Ramsey books I have for some inspiration. I managed to open an account at a different bank and sock away some money. I am going to try and add to it each paycheck. I figure this way - I have to go out of my way to get it out and I may save better.

Also, grocery shopping tonight with my budget list and menu ideas!

I am scouring the net for budget meal ideas...Hillbillyhousewife seems to have a few.
I am determined to make this happen!

and a sassy saver I have not become.

I am sitting here making out my grocery list and menu for the week 6/13-6/19. Friday night I will go grocery shopping. I will stick to the list, stick to the menus and be sure to bring my lunch daily.

I am going to start paying off bills and saving.

I can do this!

Stopping the spending habits....

something that is hard to break!
I am going to plan out the weeks meals and try and not go over my $50 grocery budget for the week...we have a ton of meat in the freezer, I just need to be diligent and thaw it out! Spagetti is something that will last two nights as is chili....

I also am looking at our next few paychecks and setting up bills to pay so that the money won't be available to me! Our dryer seems to be broken so that will need replacing....another budget buster.

Disney Budget Stretcher...

so we went to Orlando for the weekend...managed to only eat one meal on property and buy a few groceries...not sure how much that saved though....going to start the week with a new outlook and keep forging ahead......

So no take out tonight....

July 10th, 2007 at 02:22 am

Cooked dinner at home so saved on take out....and I have a huge pork roast that I am throwing in the crockpot tomorrow so we can have shredded pork sandwiches for dinner.

Arrived home to a $60 and a $10 check from some mystery shopping assignments I completed....we planned on going to Disney this weekend for a passholder event. I canceled our hotel as it was full price, no discount but now I have been offered to do a shop at a resort and they pay for two nights as well as pay me for the report.

So I think I will use the $70 for gas and towards of food and still go...part of me feels guilty though for some reason???

On my way to becoming a Sassy Saver!

July 9th, 2007 at 06:02 pm

I have decided I need to get serious and really start building up a savings. Every little bit adds up! Today I brought my lunch saving me about $10.

My bank has no fees or penalties for transfers so each $ I save I am going to transfer right to our savings account. I want to see that baby grow!

Sooooo I am $10 closer....!
